• A Personal Tale of Historical Cooking with Mustard and Vinegar

    My name is Shawntel Osborne. I belong to an international historical reenactment organization called The Society for Creative Anachronism. In the SCA I am known as AElfgifu Haraldsdottir.

    I have participated in this hobby for over 40 years. In that time I have found a love for research and recreation of recipes and foods from the time period. This blog is my way of sharing what I’ve learned.

    Why Mustard-Vinegar? In my research I have found vinegar and mustard in one form or another in almost all cuisines. This fascinated me! Who knew the humble ‘soured wine’ would be so important?!?
